Try a mindful walk with no distance target

A walk can be an opportunity to notice your surroundings rather than achieve a score. Accessibility, weather and personal safety should shape the route.

Choose an appropriate setting

Use a familiar, safe route and suitable footwear. Indoor movement or a seated observation break can serve a similar purpose if walking is not accessible.

Notice a few concrete details

Observe colors, sounds or the feeling of your steps. You do not need to empty your mind.

Keep navigation primary

Stay alert to traffic, uneven ground and other people. An attention exercise should not distract from the environment.

Try this today

Spend a few minutes noticing three things on a familiar route. End whenever your schedule or comfort requires.

General wellbeing information, not medical advice. Yoga may not suit every condition. For pregnancy, injuries or health concerns, ask a qualified clinician and instructor about individual adaptations. Stop any practice that causes pain, dizziness or distress. NCCIH: yoga safety and evidence.
